TECHNICAL SUPPORT - MAGNETIC COIL DUAL-FILTER INTRODUCTION

 

1.WHAT IS DUAL-FILTER (IR CUT FILTER)

In Day mode (well lit, color) mechanism automatically positions IR-CUT optical filter between Lens and Image Sensor to exclude Infrared radiation that would otherwise adversely affect color reproduction, this ensures color rendition not possible with ordinary non-filtered or notch-filter type Day/Night cameras.

In Night mode (low light, monochrome) mechanism automatically removes IR-CUT optical filter to allow Infrared radiation to pass boosting low light and Infrared sensitivity, the result is significantly better night images with an Infrared Illuminator or with Infrared rich light sources.

 

2.THE DUAL- FILTER IN THE CURRENT MARKET.

There are two kinds of Dual-filters. One is motor Dual-filter, the other is magnetic coil Dual-filter.

Especially the motor Dual-filter, it is widely used for security camera , but the one used by most of the factories is cheap and the quality is poor .

There are two main disadvantages.

1. When the temperature is too high, the lubricant will be volatilized.
2. When the temperature is too low, the filter will be stuck.
